Pyin U Lwin: to escape summer tempreture

I took a 7-hr bus directly from Bagan into Pyin U Lwin, a summer capital and a military centre of the Indian Army during  British times as well as amarket centre for goods from the Shan State. The city is free of the ubiquitous pagodas, instead with colonial Tudor style houses. I walked around in the cool and pleasant weather to check out the Purcell Tower, the Candacraig (an abandoned  colonial mansion), the central market, the All Saint English Church, and a wedding, but did not have enough time to cover the Botanical Gardens.
