Bukchon Hanok Village

I visited Bukchon Hanok Village (北村) – a nice area with plenty of traditional style homes, and tourists wearing Korea traditional Hanbok and posing for photos.  In this area many hanok houses are transformed into cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses so tourists can visit and take a look of the interior of Korean traditional house. However, I ate a honey pancake and a plate of Korean rice sausage for lunch on tiny stores out side of the village.

My day ended with Insadong – great for traditional souvenirs and cool stores, such as the Poop Cafe. The focal point of lively Insadong is its 790-meter pedestrianized main street, which is crammed with teahouses and Korean eateries, plus shops selling traditional goods like pottery, tea and handmade hanji paper. The offbeat Ssamziegil complex has cozy cafes and mural-lined stairwells leading to a roof terrace selling everything from handmade goods to yummy Korean food.

On my way back to hostel, I ran into the tourism promotion event for Gyeoongju (慶州), photoed with custome, and got free suvernairs.
