Hike the Adams Peak

After a bad night sleep and standing 2.5 hours in a crowded train, I hiked up 5000 stairs to Adam’s Peak with 1000 meters elevation gain in 2 hours, stayed on the peak for 1hr, and headed down in a little over 1 hr due to the dinning lights on the trail.

Adam's Peak is a 2,243 m (7,359 ft) tall conical mountain located in central Sri Lanka. It is well known for the Sri Pada, i.e., "sacred footprint", a 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in) rock formation near the summit.

The options to climb the Adam’s Peak – starting at mid-day and wait at the top for the sunset (death) or starting climbing during the night and reach the top for the sunrise (birth). Most people start from 2 am for reaching Adam’s Peak for sunrise, but I took advantage of the overcast weather and hiked in cooler and less humid condition. It was too cloudy to see either sunset or sunrise anyway.

I missed my 1st night single room with shower and toilet in the unit and quiet. I stayed in 16-people dorm room last night, and the hostel is too close to train and bus stations and has mosquitos.
