Hatton train to Nanu oya

My travel mates hiked Adams Peak from 2 am and finished 8 am (double my hiking time). Although their hike was colder, but they got to see the sunrise. We took a train to another city after they showered and ate breakfast. The train was much less crowded today, and I ran into another solo-lady traveler was here for her 2nd visit. The train ride was scenic and relaxing, and I saw a lot on tea farms and mountain along the ride.

We took tuk-tuk from the train station to town and spent some time in Nuwaraeliya Post Office to take photos and mail postcards. We had an early dinner in a food court inside a 5-star hotel, and called it a day to catch some sleep. My last night hostel was too close to the main road and had loud music past mid night. Tonight hostel is on a hill and very quiet and cold 48f.

First-class train tickets were bought by tour groups 6-month ago. I recommend to buy third-class, cheaper, and more likely to get a seats because locals buy third-class and get on and off, while most foreigners buy second-class tickets and don’t get often. If you don’t have a seat at the beginning, you will not be seated till the end. Another tip is to wait until everyone gets off then take your time to get on the train, since there are enough time to get on although I got panic the first time out of fear and got myself stuck in the 2nd class train section miserably.
