Tour Seoul on a rainnng day
My Chilean friends left for Busan after lunch, and I toured by myself the Agricultural Museum, the Deoksugung, and serval other sites on my way to Myeong-Dong (明洞).
Bustling Myeong-dong is a shopping area packed with international fashion brands, luxury department stores and homegrown cosmetics shops, but I was there just to exchange money, and had no desire to shop.
Casual eateries offer Korean dumplings and ginseng chicken soup, while street vendors sell Japanese and Thai snacks. I sampled one department and was overwhelmed by the numbers of Chinese tourists and purchases, as well as their noise and demeanors. I rushed back to my hostel after a supermarket stop, and cooked myself Korean rice cakes with a vege/mushroom/tofu dish. This was the only raining day during my 2-month travel.
