Vientiane City highlights
I started 8 am to tour around downtown Vientiane to avoid 96f (36c) heat. I walked to the Black Stupa (That Dam), Patuxai (Victory Gate), Pha That Luang (national symbol and most important religious monument of the country, three-layered gilded and dated from 1566), and many other temples.
I rested in the hostel in the afternoon, and caught the sunset at the Mekong River. Then I had the tasty beef noodles soup for dinner.
